Two People Injured when a Car Collides with Motorcycle in Dyersville

Authorities have released the names of the two people that were injured, one of them seriously, when a car collided with a motorcycle in Dyersville Wednesday night. A news release states that at about 9:45pm, law enforcement and emergency crews responded to 1402 9th St SE for a motorcycle vs car accident. Investigators determined that a car driven by 36-year-old Jesse Drafahl of Oelwien, was traveling north bound on 9th St SE and attempted to make a left turn when it collided with a south bound motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle 68-year-old Michael Wieland of Alburnett was transported to MercyOne Dyersville and later airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospital with life threatening injuries. Drafahl suffered minor injuries. The names of the drivers are not being released at this time. The accident is still under investigation.
