Derek Phillips, 20, of Peosta, Iowa, collapsed in the heat and suffered a sudden cardiac arrest on Saturday, September 5, 2026, and passed away, surrounded by the family he loved so deeply on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at University of Iowa Health Care in Iowa City, Iowa.
A Memorial Mass for Derek will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Peosta, Iowa, with Father Mike Schueller presiding.
Bellevue
Amanda Charlotte (Manders) Hasenbank, 34, of Bellevue, passed away Thursday.
The family will greet friends and relatives from 3 to 6 p.m., on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, at the Reiff Funeral Home in Cascade, Iowa, where a Prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m.

Robert “Bob” Francis McDermott, 94, of Cascade, Iowa, passed away prayerfully on Friday, September 11, 2026. He was with family and was heard praying “Hail Mary” in the last moments of his life.
Visitation for Bob will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Cascade, Iowa. Where a Memorial Mass for Bob will also be held at Noon. The Reiff Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mary Lynn Morrissey, 76, of Dundee, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the Regional Medical Center in Manchester.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
