Theisen’s Using Inventory Robot in Iowa Stores

Theisen’s has introduced an inventory robot in two Iowa stores. The robot, called Tally, uses AI and computer vision technology to locate out-of-stock items, incorrect pricing, and misplaced products. KCRG reports Tally will roam store isles in Dubuque, Dyersville stores scanning shelves multiple times a day. The robot makes subtle, quiet noises to avoid startling shoppers. If Tally runs into a customer in an aisle, it will pause its tasks to allow the shopper to finish what they’re doing. Tally may also go around a customer, or turn around and come back later to avoid interrupting shoppers.
