“Stop the Scammers” Roadshow Event to Stop in Dyersville

An event to educate the public about common scams will take place in Dyersville this coming Wednesday. The Iowa Department of Insurance and Financial Services’ “Stop the Scammers” roadshow will hold the event at Fuse restaurant in downtown Dyersville at 8:30 AM Wednesday. The roadshow is in partnership with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office and AARP Iowa. The educational campaign and roadshow seek to educate Iowans on scams impacting the state and how Iowans can best protect themselves from scammers in the digital age. In 2025, the Stop the Scammers roadshow helped stop $2.7 million from being sent to scammers and nearly $270,000 of funds were recovered from scammers from Iowans coming forward and reporting active scams at events.
