The girls state golf tournaments began yesterday. In class 4A, Western Dubuque is in 6th place heading into the second and final round today. The Bobcats had a combined score of 333 from their top four golfers on Thursday. Cece Ball had a +5 77, Amber Wilson shot an 81, Natalie Fangmann had an opening-round 86, and Landry Rauen shot an 89. Waukee Northwest leads the team standings at 309, while Ainsley Wilson of Iowa City West tops the individual scoring with -4 68. In 3A, West Delaware’s Susie Funke is tied for 32nd after a +12 84 on Thursday. The second rounds for all four classes are today, with tee times starting at 8:30 am.

In boys substate soccer last night, Regina Catholic defeated Beckman Catholic 3-1.
