The WNBA and Players Association reached a verbal agreement on the terms of a new collective bargaining agreement early Wednesday, just 51 days before the league's 30th season begins. Early reports say the salary cap on the new CBA will start at $7 million (up from $1.5 million in 2025) with the max contract starting at $1.4 million (was $249,244 in 2025). The average salary will be around $600,000, compared with $120,000 in 2025, with the minimum salary surpassing $300,000. That minimum was just more than $66,000 in 2025. The new agreement was pending ratification by the WNBA board and the Players Association.
