The Iowa Print Sports Writers Association has announced the Boys Basketball All-State teams. Here are local honorees:

2A First Team – Jackson Lieurance (Sr.) Cascade

2A Second Team – Conley Schauf (Jr.) Monticello

2A Third Team – Jacob Wegmann (So.) Beckman Catholic

1A Second Team – Brady Wall (Jr.) Maquoketa Valley

Trevin Jirak of West Des Moines Valley was named Mr. Basketball. The 6-foot-9 senior, who will play at Northern Iowa, helped lead the Tigers to their third straight title in 4A.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association announced Tuesday that the Boys State Basketball Tournament will move from Des Moines to Hilton Coliseum in Ames starting in 2027. The association and Iowa State University reached an initial 5-year agreement for ISU to host the five-day tournament. Ames previously was host for the state tournament six times between 1917 and 1926.

The Dodgers beat the Cubs 4-1 Tuesday in Tokyo to open the MLB season. Game two is underway at the Tokyo Dome.
