Authorities have identified the driver who died of a self-inflicted gun shot wound after a slow speed pursuit in Dubuque County Saturday. A news release states that at approximately 1:55 PM, The Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Scott Auderer of Dubuque for traffic violations, as well as Auderer being known to have an outstanding warrant for their arrest. Auderer refused to stop and a slow speed pursuit ensued through the northern parts of Dubuque County. Stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle slowly came to a stop in the area of Tollgate Road and Ridge Road in Dubuque County. Upon approaching the vehicle, Deputies found Auderer with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Deputies, as well as members from Holy Cross EMS attempted life saving measures, however Auderer was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation is on-going.
