One person was injured in a crash south of Mount Vernon. The Linn County Sheriff's department, State Patrol and emergency crews responded to a two vehicle crash On Highway 1 near Joel Lane at 9:40 pm Thursday. A new release states that a vehicle driven by 45-year-old Molly Wickenkamp of Mount Vernon, was traveling southbound on Highway 1 near Joel Lane when she attempted to turn west into a driveway. Another southbound vehicle driven by 50-year-old Elizabeth Feldman of Dubuque, failed to slow and struck Wickenkamp’s vehicle broadside as she was turning.
Wickenkamp was transported to a local hospital by Lisbon Mount Vernon Ambulance for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries. Feldman was not injured and was charged with Following too Closely and No Insurance.
