The Northwoods League's Dyersville franchise now has an official name. Tuesday afternoon, officials revealed the team will be named the Dyersville Dreamers. The name Dreamers was selected from five finalist submissions and was entered by Bonnie Breitbach who was the first of seven who submitted the name Dreamers for consideration. There were over 3,100 votes cast for the five finalists which were selected out of 427 ideas submitted. Tuesday night, the All-Star Home Run Challenge took place a the new ballpark at the Field of Dreams Movie Site. The challenge pitted nine hitters from the Great Lakes Division, against nine from the Great Plains Division across nine timed innings. While the actual Dyersville Dreamers will not officially take the field for league play until the summer of 2027, the new ballpark is now fully functional. The Northwoods League All-Star Game takes place tonight, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
