A longtime local television news anchor is leaving his station later this month. Ron Steele will be stepping down at NBC-affiliate KWWL, according to a report broadcast by the station. Steele was hired as the station’s sports director and began April 1, 1974. He was promoted to anchor in 1979. Steele currently anchors the KWWL News at 5, 6 and 10. He also produces and anchors the weekly, half-hour KWWL News and Public Affairs program, The Steele Report. Steele’s final day at the station will be February 27th.
