A large shed near Dubuque is considered a total loss after a fire Sunday night. A news release from the Dubuque County Sheriff’s Office says that deputies along with area fire departments responded at about 11:50 PM to a reported structure fire at 11178 Route 52 South. The release states a family member of the property owner received a call from a passerby who saw smoke coming from the structure. The family member then called Dispatch to report the fire. The large steel sided building and contents are considered a total loss. The assessed value of the structure is $98,200.00. Total value of the contents inside of the structure is currently unknown. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time, but does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
