An Independence woman was arrested Tuesday on multiple charges related to child exploitation following a weekslong investigation. According to the Independence Police Department, Lillianna Koenigs was taken into custody February 24 after authorities began investigating a report of sexual abuse made in mid-January. During the investigation, police identified Koenigs as an associate of the alleged offender. Investigators say they uncovered evidence that Koenigs was involved in the production, dissemination and possession of images and videos depicting child exploitation. Koenigs is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor — producing, four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor — promoting, one count of sexual exploitation of a minor — possessing, one count of dissemination of obscene material and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The Dubuque Police Department assisted in the investigation.
