Guttenburg Man Facing Multiple Charges for Harassment of Garnavillo Woman

A Guttenburg man was arrested for harassment of a Garnavillo woman. A news release from the Garnavillo Police Department states that in late February a female alerted them that she were receiving unwanted and alarming contact from 55-year-old Vincent Morabito of Guttenberg. The Garnavillo Police Department made contact with Morabito and warned him that any further contact would result in criminal charges. The woman contacted the police department again in late March and provided proof that the unwanted contact had begun once again. During the investigation, it was also determined that Morabito had contacted an individual via phone, pretending to be a law enforcement officer conducting a “welfare check” in an effort to unlawfully determine the whereabouts of a female. Once arrest warrants were issued, the Guttenberg Police Department transported him to the Clayton County Jail. Morabito was charged by the Garnavillo Police Department with Harassment in the 3rd Degree, (Simple Misdemeanor), and Impersonating a Public Official (Aggravated Misdemeanor). A no-contact order was also issued as a result of the charges.
