A Farmersburg woman was airlifted following a crash in Clayton County Thursday. A news release from the Clayton County Sheriff's Department says deputies were dispatched at about 3:50 p.m. to a semi-versus-car crash at the intersection of Highway 18 and Highway 52 in rural McGregor. The release states that a semi driven by 78-year-old Edward Kruse of Cresco, was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when a westbound Chrysler 300 driven by 61-year-old Susan Henkels of Farmersburg, failed to yield while making a left turn. The semi and passenger car collided, pushing the Chrysler into a Lexus RX350 operated by 52-year-old Christine Smith of Vinton, who was stopped at the stop sign. Henkels was airlifted from the scene in serious condition. Kruse and Smith were uninjured in the crash.
