Dubuque Woman was Arrested after Intentionally Striking Girl with Vehicle

A Dubuque woman was arrested after Police say she intentionally struck a 17-year-old girl with a vehicle during a disturbance last summer in Dubuque. The Telegraph Herald reports that 46-year-old Melissa Neuhaus was involved in a disturbance with the teenager at approximately 8:55 p.m. July 8th at Jackson and 21st streets. Court documents say Neuhaus pushed the teenager, then returned to her vehicle. The teenager then stepped in front of the vehicle to keep Neuhaus from leaving the scene. Neuhaus then drove forward, causing abrasions to the teenager’s thighs. The teenager then climbed onto the hood of Neuhaus’ vehicle to avoid being struck again. Neuhaus then drove north on Jackson Street with the teenager remaining on the vehicle’s hood. Neuhaus continued driving east on 22nd Street to the intersection with Elm Street, where the teenager got off the hood. Neuhaus then drove from the scene. Neuhaus was arrested Saturday on a warrant charging assault with a dangerous weapon, failure to appear and reckless driving.
