A Cedar Rapids driver was sent to the hospital after entering a ditch and a farm pond. A news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Department says just before 11 PM Thursday night, Deputies and emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle accident at the intersection of Coggon Road and Robinson Road West of Coggon. The release states a Honda Civic driven by 23-year-old Merlin Yohana Loyes Zamora of Cedar Rapids failed to stop for the stop sign while southbound on Robinson Road at Coggon Road and entered the south ditch coming to rest partially in a farm pond. Merlin’s infant child was also in the vehicle and properly restrained in a child safety seat. Merlin was transported to St. Luke’s hospital for possible minor injuries. The infant was uninjured.
