The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal Linn County wrong-way crash has turned herself in to authories. A news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office states that deputies arrested 32-year-old Katie Austin-Karkow of Cedar Rapids after she turned herself in Friday. Austin-Karkow was identified as the driver of the wrong way vehicle that caused the Highway 13 collision on the evening of December 27th. An arrest warrant was issued by the Linn County Attorney’s Office following the accident investigation for a charge of homicide by vehicle-operating under the influence. The collision resulted in the death of 18-year-old, Yoseph Wendafrash Abera of Somerset, New Jersey. Abera was ejected from the vehicle during the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Austin-Karkow is being held on a $500,000 cash bond.
