One driver was charged and another faces possible charges in an accident that injured three people in Rural Marion Thursday. According to the Linn County Sheriif's Department, at about 7:05 PM, Deputies and emergency crews responded to an accident with injuries at the intersection of Highway 13 and County Home Road in rural Marion. A news release states that a Chrysler Town & Country, driven by 33-year-old Katelyn Tucker of Marion, failed to stop at the stop sign as it was traveling south on Highway 13 as it approached County Home Road. Tucker then struck a Honda CRV, driven by 43-year-old Paige Wilkerson of Cedar Rapids, that was heading westbound on County Home Road. Tucker was transported to St. Lukes Hospital with minor injuries. Wilkerson was transported to Mercy Hospital with minor injuries. A passenger in Wilkerson's vehicle was transported to St. Lukes Hospital with what are believed to be serious injuries. Tucker was charged with Failure to Obey a Traffic Control Device and Wilkerson is under investigation for possible Operating While intoxicated.
