Delaware County Man Sentenced to Five Years Probation for Fight Outside of Gas Station

A Delaware County man was sentenced to five years of probation after police say he participated in a fight outside a Manchester gas station. District Associate Judge Stephanie Rattenborg recently sentenced 39-year-old Johnathan Thomas of Manchester in Iowa District Court of Delaware County after he pleaded guilty to a charge of willful injury causing bodily injury. He also was sentenced to 30 days in jail after pleading guilty to an unrelated domestic assault charge. The charge stems from a May incident in which court documents state Thomas was involved in a fight with 35-year-old Jonathon Hildebrand of Manchester. Court documents state that Hildebrand and Thomas were engaged in a physical disturbance outside a gas station in the 300 block of East Main Street in Manchester, during which Hildebrand hit Thomas “over the head with a brick” multiple times.
