A controlled burn spread to a barn near Peosta Tuesday. A press release from the Dubuque County Sheriff's Office states that at about 4:20 p.m., Centralia-Peosta and Epworth Fire Departments were dispatched to 19046 Pilot Grove Road in Peosta for a report of a structure fire. Investigation at the scene revealed that a controlled burn had spread to an abandoned outbuilding owned by Kenneth Kalb of Peosta. Due to the condition of the barn, prior to the fire, the family stated no financial loss. No injuries were reported during the incident. The fire does not appear suspicious at this time.
