Central City Parks and Rec presents a special movie in the park night on Friday, May 16th at Veterans Memorial Park in Central City. Mufasa: The Lion King will be shown at dusk. Food trucks will be on site. As always, admission is free, be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets.

The Hartwick Husky's water ski team welcomes you to take part in their golf fundraiser on Saturday, May 17th at Pin Oak in Manchester. Check in will be from 8:30-9:45am, along with a light breakfast. Tee off time is 9:50, with a scramble style format. Cost is $75, or $300 for a foursome. All proceeds support the Hartwick Husky's water ski team. The Dyersville Sportsmens Club will host a 3D archery shoot on Saturday, May 17th and on Sunday, May 18th from 7am til 1pm each day. For any questions contact 563-608-2810

The Epworth Gun Club welcomes you and your family to their annual all you can eat breakfast buffet on Sunday, May 18th from 7:30-noon at the Epworth Gun Club.

The Cedar Valley Street Rods present the 38th annual Cruisin for Camp Courageous on Sunday, May 18th from 10am-4pm at Camp Courageous in Monticello. Come check out Iowa's largest charity car shows with nearly 400 cars, trucks, motorcycles, and other vehicles on display. Awards will be given away. Cost is $15 for pre registration, or $20 the day of the show. The 11th annual Wingfest at Riverview Park in Cascade will be on Saturday, May 17th from 3-7pm. There'll be wings and more, live music, and cold beer and refreshments. As always, admission is free. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and enjoy the day.

The 15th annual Outrun The Rays 5K run/walk and bike ride will take place on Saturday, May 17th. The 5K run/walk will begin at the Peosta Community Center, with registration from 8-8:30am, with the run/walk beginning at 9:15am. Registration is $25 before May 11th, and $30 after that. Ages 19 and under are $15 before May 11th and $20 after that. A kids half mile fun run will also begin at 8:45am for ages 9 and under. And of course, the bike ride leaving from Darkbird at 1pm. Monticello Ambulance is kicking off EMS week with an open house, bake sale, and raffle on Sunday, May 18th from 1-5pm at the ambulance garage, located on East South St. in Monticello. The Cable Car Quilt Guild presents Deb Strain “Designing Fabric Presentation” on Monday, May 19th beginning at 6:45pm at Tri-State Community Church, located at 12937 Derby Grange Rd. in Dubuque. Non guild members will be just a $5 reservation. Simply email ccqprograms@gmail.com

The Monticello Emergency Medical Team will sponsor an upcoming blood drive on Save A Life Day, Thursday, May 22nd from 2:30-6:30pm at the Berndes Center in Monticello. Each person who donates will be entered into a drawing for a $50 gift certificate.
