Central City Man Injured after His Motorcycle was Rear Ended by Truck

A Central City man was injured after his motorcycle was rearended by a truck Thursday Evening. According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's Office, deputies and emergency crews responded to a personal injury accident at 99 Highway 1, south of Mount Vernon. The release states that 36-year-old Raymond Heasty of Central City was riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle and was slowing to pull off to the side of the road when he was hit from behind by a Ford F450 driven by 39-year-old by Luis Ramos Torres of Texas. The motorcycle and truck both came to rest in the East ditch. Heasty was transported by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids for minor injuries. A juvenile passenger on the motorcycle was uninjured. Ramos Torres was uninjured. Ramos Torres was cited for following too closely.
