A Cedar Rapids man is facing charges after he was injured in motorcycle crash near Coggon. According to a news release, just after 6:30 PM Saturday, Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Coggon Fire Department, and Center Point Ambulance were dispatched to a single-vehicle accident with injuries on Robinson Road and Castle Lane in rural Coggon. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found a Harley-Davidson motorcycle in the east ditch along with its driver. The release states the driver, 55-year-old Francis Krier, lost control as he was riding northbound on Robinson Road and entered the east ditch throwing him off the motorcycle. Krier was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Center Point Ambulance. Krier was charged with failure to maintain control, driving while license under suspension and is under investigation for possible Operating While Intoxicated.
