The Black Hawk Bridge in Lansing, Iowa has been closed until further notice. On Saturday night, a sensor detected movement in one of the piers, and the bridge was deemed unsafe to use. In a Facebook post, the Iowa DOT reports the bridge is closed while “we validate the sensor data and conduct a thorough engineering analysis to determine if it is safe to reopen.” Work on the bridge is expected to be complete this week.
