A Beckman Catholic student was selected to represent Iowa and Beckman Catholic High School at the International Science and Engineering Fair in Phoenix, Arizona.
Owen Boge qualified for the International fair that took place May 10-15, by placing first with his research entitled, “Incorporation of Coconut Derivatives in Bio-Plastic Sheet Formation”, in the Food Science Category at the State Science and Technology Fair of Iowa. The international fair included 1,727 finalists with 1,383 research projects from 67 countries, regions, and territories around the world. Science research teacher Cheryl Kluesner also attended the event. This was the tenth time a Beckman Catholic High School student has presented their personal research at the competition representing Iowa on the global stage.
