Authorities have identified the individuals involved in a two-vehicle crash that killed one person and injured another north of Maquoketa on July 4th. According to the Iowa State Patrol, 20-year-old Isaiah Ries of Maquoketa, was killed when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by 44-year-old Mindy Williams of Maquoketa. Williams was airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center for treatment. A crash report states that Ries’ vehicle was traveling north on Hurstville Road north of Maquoketa at approximately 4:30 p.m. Friday, when the vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason and struck Williams’ vehicle head-on.
