City of Dyersville Announces Snow Emergency Policy

The City of Dyersville has announced a Snow Emergency policy and special snow route rules to help clear streets in winter. Snow Emergencies may be declared by the Mayor or Police Chief during heavy snow. It will be announced on the radio and local access cable. Starting no sooner than 2 hours after the declaration, any vehicle left unattended on a public street or alley can be ticketed and towed. Certain streets are marked as snow routes. From November 1 to April 15, there is no parking on these routes from 2:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. when 2 or more inches of snow are forecast, or 2 or more inches have fallen and the City needs to plow, unless the street has been cleared curb to curb for the whole block after the storm. Residents are strongly urged to park off-street during snowfalls to help plows work faster and keep costs down.
