A Central City man was injured after striking a deer with his motorcycle. According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's department, at about 7:50pm Monday, deputies and emergency crews responded to a personal injury accident on Stone City Road near Prairie Chapel Road, North of Springville. The release states that 45-year-old Chad Cummings of Central City, was riding a motorcycle northbound on Stone City Road near Prairie Chapel Road when he struck a deer. Cummings was ejected from the motorcycle which came to rest in the east ditch. Cummings was transported to a local hospital by Anamosa Ambulance for what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
