Earlville will hold a City Cleanup Day next month. According to an online announcement, the collection will take place October 3. Kluesner Sanitation will collect items that have been placed curbside by 6 a.m. at the regular collection site of a residence. Acceptable items include: box springs, mattresses, bed frames, sofas, tables, chairs, dressers, desks, bookshelves, bathroom fixtures, toilets, sinks, children’s toys, paint cans (must be open and dry), outdoor patio furniture, garden tools, gas-powered items (must be fully drained of fuel, oil, hazardous materials). Earlville residents must purchase a tag at the Earlville City Office for the following items: appliances (air conditioners, dehumidifiers, dishwashers, dryers, freezers, furnaces, humidifiers, microwaves, refrigerators, stoves, washers, water heaters) and electronics (televisions, computers, monitors). Prohibited items include building materials, excessive remodeling materials, roofing, shingles, bricks, concrete, LP tanks, vehicles, vehicle parts, chemicals, hazardous materials, wet paint, items of excessive weight or length and yard waste, including trees and branches. All items must be small enough to be picked up by one person. All items will be collected at the discretion of Kluesner Sanitation.
