One person was airlifted after a head-on collision with a school bus Friday morning in Clayton County. The Clayton County Sheriff's Office says just before 7:20 AM, it was notified of a two-vehicle accident in Rural Garnavillo. A news release says preliminary investigation of the crash indicates that the driver of the Jeep Liberty crossed the center line, causing a head-on collision with an MFL-Mar Mac school bus. The driver of the school bus, including the four students aboard at the time of the crash were evaluated on scene and released. The driver of the Jeep was transported to Guttenberg Municipal Hospital and ultimately airlifted to the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinic in Iowa City. Names of individuals involved are not being released at this time, pending family notification. The crash remains under investigation by the Clayton County Sheriff's Office.
