A Minneapolis man was arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Garnavillo. A news release from the Garnavillo Police Department states that Friday at about 11:05 p.m., an officer observed a vehicle traveling at 61 miles per hour in a posted 30 mile per hour zone. The officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the vehicle failed to yield for several blocks. The vehicle did finally stop, and a probable cause search of the vehicle was conducted. An investigation determined that the driver, 43-year-old Eric Lee of Minneapolis was in possession of approximately 15 grams of a controlled substance. Lee was arrested and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Offense, Failure to Yield to an Emergency Vehicle, and Speed.
