Law Enforcement Agencies Asking for Help Locating Suspect in Chase and Crash

Area law enforcement agencies are asking for help locating a suspect after a chase and crash Tuesday night. According to a news release, just after 9:30 PM Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies were in the area of Waubeek Road and Rowley Road looking for 42-year-old Dustin Lacey of Anamosa, who has an active arrest warrant for burglary in the third degree. Deputies then got into a pursuit with a Gold Cadillac Escalade believed to be driven by Dustin Lacey. The pursuit went east on Waubeek Road from Rowley Road. Deputies quickly lost sight of the Cadillac due to the gravel dust. The immediate area was searched by deputies and the Cadillac was not located. Then at 11:10 PM, a motorist reported a vehicle on its side in the road on Boy Scouts Road at Game Club Road. This was the Gold Cadillac Escalade from the earlier pursuit. Linn County Sheriff’s Deputies along with a trooper from the Iowa State Patrol searched the area and no one was found. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office and the Monticello Police Department assisted with the use of drones to search the area. It is believed that the Cadillac was driven by Dustin Lacey, lost control at this intersection, and rolled. Dustin was able to exit the vehicle and leave the area. The pursuit and accident are still under investigation, with Eluding and other traffic charges pending. There is no active threat to the public. They are asking that anyone who knows the location of Dustin Lacey, contact the Linn County Sheriff’s Office, or local law enforcement.
