A former employee at an Anamosa Dental office is accused of taking patient health savings account and debit card information to use for personal purchases. KCRG reports that according to criminal complaints, Kathryn Eilers used the cards to buy GLP-1 weight loss drugs and items from the website Temu. She is facing two counts of Unauthorized use of a credit card over $1,500/under $10,000. On March 22, a criminal complaint says a victim reported unauthorized purchases on their health savings account card. The victim’s account showed four separate purchases of medications online. Those purchases totaled about $2,200. Eilers admitted to getting the patient’s information while employed at Anamosa Dental Associates. The complaint says she was fired. Then, on June 10, a criminal complaint says another patient reported suspicious charges from the websites Temu and Trimrx showed up on her debit card bill. Eilers is accused of spending more than $1,800 on the victim’s card. Again, she admitted to getting the debit card information when she worked at Anamosa Dental Associates. Jones County Sheriff Greg Graver says this is an ongoing investigation and the county attorney’s office could file more charges.
