Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Dubuque and 10 other Iowa counties after severe storms with high winds caused damage last week. The proclamation will activate the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Advocacy Program for the impacted counties. The proclamation is active for the next 30 days unless it’s terminated or extended. The Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program allows recipients to get up to $7,000 for households that are up to 200% of the federal poverty level. There are no income requirements. The grants can be used for home and car repairs, replacing food and property, as well as temporary living expenses. Original receipts will be required for reimbursement from storm recovery expenses.
