The boys state golf tournaments concluded Wednesday. In class 2A, Maquoketa Valley junior Elijah Dougherty tied for 22nd place out of 82 players with a two-day total of 156, and Beckman Catholic junior Jacob Wegman tied for 25th with a 158.
The girls state golf tournaments begin today. 1A is being played at Cedar Pointe Golf Course in Boone, 2A will be played at American Legion Golf Course in Marshalltown, 3A is hosted by Pheasant Ridge Golf Course in Cedar Falls, and the 4A girls state golf tournament takes place at Waverly Municipal. Locally, Beckman Catholic’s Maggie Domeyer competes for the 1A title, while Western Dubuque’s team is part of the 4A field.
