The driver of a tractor trailer was injured this week in Dubuque County when high winds caused his truck to overturn. According to a police crash report, 31-year-old Curtis Oats, Jr. of North Liberty, was driving on Sundown Road near Peosta at about 6:35 during Tuesday’s tornado warning. At the time, winds were reaching 70 miles per hour and there was heavy rain. As Oats drove uphill, winds pushed his trailer into a ditch, causing the vehicle to roll onto the driver’s side. Oats was transported by EMS to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.
