Iowa State on Thursday announced that it will add women’s wrestling. Alli St. John will lead the program, which will start in the 2027-28 season. St. John’s husband Derek is an assistant coach for the Cyclone men’s wrestling team. It was also announced that Brent Metcalf has been promoted to men’s head coach, replacing Kevin Dresser, who will become the director of the men’s and women’s wrestling programs at Iowa State.
