A Flood Watch is in effect until Midnight tonight for Benton, Buchanan, Delaware, Dubuque, Jackson, Jones and Linn counties. Rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches occurred with thunderstorms Tuesday evening, especially along and near the Highway 20 corridor. Additional rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected this morning, and again by mid afternoon through this evening. These storms will be capable of producing rainfall rates up to 1 to 2 inches per hour. Any additional heavy rain on saturated ground will increase the risk for flash flooding. The National Weather Service says those living in areas prone to flooding should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings.
