Several communities reported damage as a line of powerful thunderstorms moved across Eastern Iowa Tuesday. The storms produced at least two tornadoes seen on the ground. One was reported as it moved across parts of Buchanan and Delaware counties. A second tornado was spotted in Jones County in the areas of Onslow and Wyoming. Several other communities reported large hail, up to 2-3 inches in diameter. Residents near Masonville reported trees down, telephone poles bent and damage to some farm buildings. Near Peosta, straight line winds caused damage to a machine shed roof and caused a semi to tip onto it's side. The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the roof was blown off the building at Kluesner Sanitation on Highway 150 just south of Highway 20. Waterloo Police reported extensive hail damage to homes and vehicles.
