State Patrol Identifies those Involved in Crash South of Anamosa

The Iowa State Patrol has released the names of those involved in a crash South of Anamosa that killed one, injured another and closed the highway Monday afternoon. The two-vehicle crash took place around 1:20 p.m. on Highway 151 between County Road X40 and Exit 49: County Road E34 near Fairview, about four miles south of Anamosa. According to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, 35-year-old Ayla Shay McFarland, of Mt. Vernon, was killed in the crash. The report states that a Ford Fusion driven by McFarland was northbound on Highway 151 when it crossed the median for an unknown reason and was struck broadside by a Chevy Colorado driven by 66-year-old Michael Duncomb of Anamosa that was southbound on Highway 151. Duncomb was inured in the crash. US Highway 151 southbound was closed for over two hours Monday because of the crash.
