A vehicle struck and seriously injured a motorist who had exited his vehicle following a crash near Dickeyville, Wisconsin. A press release from the Grant County Sheriff’s Department states that 79-year-old Alan Hensiak of Union Grove, was driving on Hill Climb Road near Dickeyville at about 10:05 p.m. Friday when his vehicle struck a concrete barrier as he attempted to enter the northbound lanes of U.S. 151. Hensiak exited his vehicle for an unknown reason and walked onto the highway. He was then struck by a northbound vehicle driven by 66-year-old Jeffrey Weigel of Platteville. Hensiak was transported to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center before being airlifted to University of Iowa Health Care Medical Center for treatment of potentially life-threatening injuries. Weigel and his passengers were not injured. Authorities are investigating the crash.
