Dubuque officials have lifted a boil water advisory issued Sunday for a large portion of the city. A news release states that the order was lifted Tuesday following two consecutive negative test results for the presence of bacteria. The city of Dubuque Water Department issued the advisory Sunday night after a water main break on Indian Ridge, along with a construction-related water main shutdown, caused a brief loss of pressure to the system serving the area. The advisory affected about 5,500 addresses. After the advisory was issued, samples were taken from the city’s water distribution system in the affected area. Customers noticing cloudy water that does not clear within several minutes of running a tap should call the city’s water department.
