Rick Dickinson, retired President and CEO of Greater Dubuque Development, has announced his run for Dubuque County Supervisor. Dickinson, a Democrat filed his paperwork for a supervisor bid with the Dubuque County Auditor on Thursday. Dickinson’s professional background includes six years on the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and two terms in the Iowa Legislature from 1990 to 1994. He also held the position of President for the Dubuque Racing Association. Two seat are up for grabs this year. Wayne Kenniker is running for reelection, Ann McDonough is not. Supervisor Harley Pothoff’s term runs through 2028. Dickinson joins a growing county supervisor race. Former educator, Kristin Dietzel and former county supervisor Daryl Klein also filed for the race recently. In January, nonprofit executive Jason Davis, a Republican, announced his campaign for a seat on the board. Voters will choose two supervisors from the field of candidates in November after each party narrows its candidates to two nominees in the June 2 primary election.
