Authorities are seeking the public’s help as they investigate a fire that destroyed a building housing the production facility of one business and the offices of another in La Motte. Firefighters were dispatched at about 5:50 a.m. Sunday to Midwest Legacy Beef in La Motte, for a report of a large structure fire. The building also houses the offices of Eastern Iowa LP. The Iowa State Fire Marshal Division is now leading the investigation into the fire. Sheriff’s Department officials ask that anyone with information about the fire or home surveillance footage of the area call the department at 563-652-3312.
