A Monticello teen faces charges after a single vehicle accident near Springville. According to a news release from the Linn County Sheriff's office, Saturday, at about 11:15 a.m., Deputies responded to a single-vehicle accident on Martelle Road in rural Springville. First responders found a blue Ford Escape in the west ditch with three people inside. According to the report, the vehicle was heading westbound when the driver failed to negotiate a curve in the road, causing it to veer into the ditch. The driver of the Escape was identified as 18-year-old Joanna Patterson of Monticello. The passengers were identified as 21-year-old Heather Burrow of Monticello and 19-year-old Lucas Brooks of Agency. All three occupants were transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries. Patterson was charged with failure to maintain control.
