The Dubuque Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance investigating a tip alleging a child was sexually assaulted. A news release from the Dubuque Police Department states that the Dubuque County Emergency Communications Center received anonymous information Tuesday morning about the alleged incident. The reporting person said they had contact with “a subject claiming to be an adult male in his mid-20s living in Dubuque County.” The subject told the reporting party he was babysitting his 10-year-old female cousin Monday evening and admitted to sexually assaulting her. The Dubuque Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division is investigating the tip and seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the subject. Police ask that anyone to whom the circumstances in the tip sound familiar contact the Dubuque Police Department anonymous tip line at 563-587-3820.
